ConnectPastoral Resident
Job Description
Redeemer Church, PCA – Southern Pines, a congregation of the Presbyterian Church in America, will employ a full-time Pastoral Resident for the Summer of 2026 to enact the Session’s Ministry Plan. He will work alongside the officers and staff to model Christian maturity, lead Bible studies, assist in Sunday Worship, preach and teach regularly, and work with staff and lay leadership in all areas of the church.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Candidate will aspire towards ordination as a Teaching Elder within the Presbyterian Church in America or another NAPARC denomination.
- Candidates will sincerely conform to the Reformed theological system and principles outlined in the Westminster Confession of Faith, as well as the Shorter and Larger Catechisms.
- Candidate will possess or be close to possessing an MDiv from a reformed seminary.
- Candidate will be currently under care as an intern of a PCA presbytery (or equivalent from another NAPARC denomination).
EXPECTATIONS
Teaching Ministries – Implementation of the Session’s Plan for the Ministry of the Word by:
- Preach regularly at Countryside Presbyterian Church, a sister congregation of RCPCA
- Assist in 13 Thursdays Summer Bible Study facilitation, General Ministerial Duties -Care for the flock of Jesus at RC, PCA by:
- Setting a Christ-like example
- Regularly attend fellowship gatherings
- Attending weekly staff meetings
- Other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor and/or Session
Measures of Success –the following duties will be evaluated for completion and quality:
- Prepare and deliver weekly Gospel-centered sermons at CPC
- Evaluate and report to the session on opportunities for CPC
- Establish close connections with 2 or 3 families at RCPCA
- Met regularly with families of RCPCA
COMPENSATION AND OTHER INFORMATION
- Full-time salaried position: Exempt from overtime.
- Reports to: Minister
- Flexible hours: Set weekly office hours are not required. Attendance and participation at weekly staff meetings are mandatory. Weekly meetings with Sr. Pastor are mandatory.
- Time Off/Away: As needed with prior notice (max 7 days). Arrange with the Minister and the Church Administrator.
- Compensation: Negotiable (includes: Salary/Housing/Benefits) (paid every other week)
- Housing (shared 2-bedroom furnished condo with local intern)
- Salary: $1000/month
- Expenses up to $250/month (receipts required)
* At-Will Employment: This agreement represents the entire understanding between the parties, and there are no other verbal or written agreements. The Pastoral Resident’s employment with Redeemer Church, PCA – Southern Pines, is entered into voluntarily, and either party can terminate the employment relationship at any time, for any reason, with or without notice. Ordinarily, 30 days’ notice of termination will be provided by either part,y but may be waived under extraordinary circumstances.

Music Coordinator
Job Description
Redeemer Church, a congregation of the Presbyterian Church in America, will employ a Music Coordinator to skillfully implement all music-related requirements of Redeemer’s Philosophy of Worship. The MUSIC COORDINATOR will use his/her gifts, talents, and passion to coordinate vocalists and instrumentalists for Sunday morning, recruit and train volunteers for the Worship Team, and lead the congregational singing in Lord’s Day corporate worship.
QUALIFICATIONS
- The MUSIC COORDINATOR must profess faith in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, as well as demonstrate the reality of their faith in life and testimony.
- The MUSIC COORDINATOR must agree to abide with the confessional and constitutional standards of the Presbyterian Church in America, specifically the Westminster Confession of Faith, the Larger and Shorter Catechism, and the Book of Church Order.
- The MUSIC COORDINATOR must be competent and confident in leading worship from guitar and/or piano, express knowledge of basic music theory, technologically inclined, general audio/visual setup.
EXPECTATIONS
General
- Participate as an active member/associate member at Redeemer Church.
- Assist Pastor(s), as requested, in selection and arrangement of their psalms, hymns, choruses, and spiritual songs for Lord’s Day worship.
- Attend weekly staff meetings.
- Necessary Holiday Work: Christmas Week and Easter are considered “working holidays”. The MUSIC COORDINATOR’s participation is required. Production
- Lead congregational singing on Sunday Mornings.
- Lead/schedule preludes, postludes, offertory, communion, and other necessary regular special music for Sunday Mornings.• Coordinate/schedule all musicians and vocalists through Planning Center. Production (cont’d)
- Coordinate & implement music-related projects for non-regular gathered worship (funerals, hymn sings) and other seasonal services (ex: Good Friday, Christmas Eve) as needed.
- Produce digital notation for hymns/choruses for the weekly worship guide.
- Produce all copy music for vocalists and instrumentalists.
- Coordinate with the Tech Team for all technical and logistical needs.
- Business or business-casual appearance (generally neat) is required for “up front” Sunday Morning leadership.
Education
- Identify and recruit talented musicians and vocalists to the Worship Team. Enrichment
- Attended an annual worship workshop or conference of your choice for personal development, stimulation, and refreshment.
COMPENSATION AND OTHER INFORMATION
- Part-time salaried position: Exempt from overtime
- Reports to: Senior Pastor
- Annual Performance Review occurs in Q3
- Flexible hours: Set weekly office hours are not required. Rehearsal day/time is to be set on days other than Sundays.
- Time Off: Redeemer Church, PCA will allow six (6) Sundays for paid time off. A minimum of four (4) weeks’ notice is required as well as arranging for Worship Team leader substitutes.
